- Profile and progress data stored in Firestore, including display name and climbed/favorite summits.
- Location permission and location readings used on-device to show nearby map context.
- Local app storage data used for offline summit lists and sync timestamps.

- To let users sign in and keep their personal summit progress.
- To sync climbed and favorite summits across sessions for authenticated users.

- To support offline usage and smoother app startup.
Sharing and processors
Top Kaernten uses Firebase services (Authentication and Firestore) to provide core app functionality. Data is processed by these services as infrastructure providers for the app.
Retention
Account-related data is stored until the user deletes their account, unless we must retain limited records for legal, fraud prevention, or security reasons.
